Recap
An incredibly frustrating night for the Reds as they bowed out of another cup, this time at the hands of Broadbay rivals Back. It was a very uneventful game with few chances and defences were on top throughout. The Rudhachs had more of the ball and got into good positions but the final ball was a let down or we held onto it too long. Back defended well and the two best players on the night were probably their centre backs, Jamie Mackinnon and Chris Macleod, who kept Wally and Angus relatively quiet throughout. There was a claim for a penalty when Wally seemed to me (standing quite close) to get fouled by the keeper following a shot by Angus but the referee deemed otherwise; decisions don’t seem to be going our way at the moment. To be fair though the Reds didn’t really do enough throughout the game, and so it went to penalties as there is no ET in the Coop cup. Nathan saved Back’s second kick to give Point the advantage but Andrew Mo and Stew both hit the woodwork and it was the Bacachs who were celebrating on a disappointing night for the Rudh.
